June is busting out all over with lovely, longer days, warmer weather and opportunities to travel to new places, either in person or by virtual travel. As the world begins to open up post-COVID-19, there are lots of places reopening and just waiting for you to explore. Below are some fun travel adventures perfect for the month of June, whether by car, by Morningside bus or virtually:
1. We’re on the road again! Our Morningside bus will be heading to Santa Ana for a visit to the Bowers Museum to view the special exhibit, “Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic.” Sign-ups will be held the first week of June for the Thursday, June 17 excursion. Enjoy viewing over 400 objects including artwork, costumes, props, sketches for Fantasia and ghouls from the Haunted Mansion attraction and more. There is a fee for this excursion.
2. Take a virtual tour through Google Arts & Culture to the hidden world of the National Parks. See the Kenai Fjords, the Dry Tortugas and more as you travel through Alaska, Florida and Hawaii.
3. Travel virtually down Route 66 through Google Earth Voyager tours. This virtual tour drops you straight into some of the more epic stops on this famous road, such as Pixar’s Cars universe in Kansas. Walk through the Blue Whale of Catoosa in Oklahoma and see the neon lights of the famed Blue Swallow Motel in New Mexico among other stops.
